The movie theaters of Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) launch free thematic film screenings until the end of 2016, LPR Minister of Culture, Sport and Youth Oksana Kokotkina announced during on air of ‘Lugansk24’ TV Channel.
“Movie theaters of the Republic are supporting us in all our projects. Not so long ago, we organized a similar project ‘Day of Kind Movies.’ We proposed this project to our movie theaters as a part of the Year of Russian Cinema. We will рщдв this project together with the movie theaters until the end of the year“, the Minister said.
As a part of the project, the children from the socially unprotected groups and other citizens of the Republic can attend the movie theaters to see movies and animated films for free twice in a month.
“In other words, while in August there was the ‘Day of Kind Movie’ project dedicated to the celebration of the Savior of the Apple Feast Day (an Orthodox holiday with the processions and blessings of harvests. Russian, Ukrainians, and Belorussians eat apples, apple pies, or other dishes containing apples – Editor), in September the project ‘Patriotic Movie Day’ will take place. Until the end of the year we are going to present the projects ‘Day of Social Movie’ and ‘Day of Fairy Tale Movie,” Kokotkina mentioned.
According to the Minister, nine movie theaters, with three of them in Lugansk, are working on the territory of the Republic at the moment.
“I think we will bring the work of the movie theaters a little bit closer to our requirements while collaborating in such a way. I would like to say that we have very close connections with ‘Mosfilm’ movie studio. We are regularly communicating with the studio, and, in essence, they are ready to provide all of ‘Mosfilm’ film fund to us, including Soviet films,” the Minister stressed.
2,000 children of the Republic watched the animated movies for free in the movie theaters of Lugansk as a part of the charitable initiative ‘Day of Kind Movie’.
