Ukrainian army fired almost 200 shells at DPR along the whole contact line at night

In the night, Ukrainian military fired 192 shells at the front-line territory of Donetsk People’s Republic on the Gorlovka, Donetsk, and Mariupol directions, a source in the DPR Defense Ministry informed Donetsk News Agency on June 22nd.

“From 10 PM till 3.50 AM, the Ukrainian side shelled Spartak, Zhabichevo, and Trudovskie villages on the outskirts of Donetsk, the front-line Zaytsevo village in the north of Gorlovka, Elenovka village south of the capital, Mineralnoe village of Yasinovatsky district as well as the area of coal mines ‘Yuri Gagarin’ and ‘6/7’,” the source stated. “A total of 94 120mm and 98 82mm mortar shells were fired at these sectors.“

According to the source, the enemy was shelling from the positions near Avdeevka, Zhovanka, Taramchuk, Mariinka, Shyrokino, Peski, and hollow of Shumy township. Along with mortars and grenade launchers small arms were used.

The night before, Ukrainian military fired nearly 70 mortar mines at the northern outskirts of Donetsk, in particular at Spartak village.
