Ukrainian military opened fire on civilians crossing Ukrainian checkpoint near Mariinka, a source in the Defense Ministry of Donetsk People’s Republic informed Donetsk News Agency.

Around 8 PM [on June 16], Ukrainian military opened fire on civilians, who were between the Ukrainian checkpoint ‘Marinka’ and the Ukrainian customs. According to preliminary data, two civilians were injured,” the source said.

According to the source, the fire was opened by small arms. “Part of the civilians, who were trying to pass the checkpoint ‘Marinka’ in the direction of Donetsk, were forced to run back in the opposite direction,” he added.
