During the past day, the artillery of the Ukrainian army opened fire on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), injuring soldiers of DPR Armed Forces, “Essence of Time” unit reported on its official page in the social networks on the evening of May 11th.
Ukrainian military shelled the area of the former Donetsk Airport and Spartak village on the northern outskirts of Donetsk, and Trudovskie village in the west of the city. ‘Yasinovatskiy’ checkpoint and the outskirts of Gorlovka were also shelled. 82mm and 120mm mortars, the weapons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, and small arms were used in the course of the shelling. Two soldiers of DPR Armed Forces were wounded. The Ukrainian army continues to gather heavy artillery banned by Minsk Agreements at the contact line. DPR intelligence spotted 120mm howitzer D-30, tanks, and self-propelled guns of the Ukrainian army on the Gorlovka direction as well as self-propelled guns and multiple launch rocket systems on the south direction, as stated in the unit’s report.
During his briefing on May 11th, DPR Deputy Defense Minister Eduard Basurin stated that the Ukrainian army deployed over 100 military vehicles to the contact line.
