Approximately one thousand Interior Ministry National Guard troops are heading to Odessa to join 3 thousand law enforcement officers, as well as 300 “Azov” neo-Nazi regiment militants from Mariupol to “secure order” during the commemoration of the victims of May 2, 2014 massacre.
Odessa region SBU administration informed that the streets of the city are already being patrolled by “mobile counter-terrorist groups in combat vehicles.“
Reporter Aleksandr Poluev informed that light armored vehicles are already spotted on the streets of Odessa, Ukrainian media report.
On May 2, 2014, with the silent permission of local authorities, neo-Nazis chased “Antimaidan” supporters to the Trade Unions House of Odessa, blocked them inside and set the building on fire. As a result, 46 people were burned alive, another 200 were injured. Armed Nazis surrounded the building and were beating everyone who managed to escape the burning building, inflicting heavy injuries. International organizations, including the UN, pointed out that there never was any objective investigation of the massacre.
