Last night Ukrainian military shelled the outskirts of Donetsk and Gorlovka, and “Yasinovatskiy” checkpoint located on Donetsk-Gorlovka road using the tank and artillery guns as well as heavy mortars, a source in the Defense Ministry of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) informed Donetsk News Agency.
“From 8 PM till 2 AM, Ukrainian military were shelling Spartak, Trudovskie, Verhnetorezkoe villages, the area of the former Donetsk Airport and the area of ‘Volvo Center’ near Donetsk as well as Zaitsevo, Nikitovka villages, Golmovsky township and the area of mining village ‘6/7’ by artillery guns, tanks, and 120mm mortars. Moreover, ‘Yasinovatskiy’ checkpoint was also under the fire of the Ukrainian army,” the spokesman said.
According to the source, the enemy was shelling from the positions in Opytnoe, Peski, Avdeevka, Maryinka, Kurdyumovka, Zhovanka, Leninskoe villages, Mayorsk town as well as from the ventilation shafts of Butovskaya and Yujnaya coal mines. The Ukrainian military used 82mm mortars, the weapons of infantry fighting vehicle, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers and small arms together with heavy artillery.
According to the source, a total of almost 200 shells including 104 82mm and 37 120mm mortar shells were fired from the Ukrainian army’s positions, 125mm artillery guns fired 31 times and 122mm artillery guns fired 22 times. Information about the victims and destruction is being specified.
DPR Defense Ministry reported that the previous day the Ukrainian military fired almost 300 shells at the front-line territories of DPR.
