Yesterday in the evening Ukrainian military shelled Staromikhaylovka township (controlled by Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) – Editor) in the west of Donetsk and positions of the Ukrainian army in Krasnogorovka town using heavy weaponry banned by Minsk agreements, a source of DPR Defense Ministry informed Donetsk News Agency.
“Around 21:30, Ukrainian military shelled Staromikhaylovka township and their own positions in Krasnogorovka town using 152mm guns. A total of sixteen shells were fired at Staromikhaylovka
According to him, the shelling was conducted from the area of Gornyak town to the northwest of Krasnogorovka town (the territory controlled by Kiev junta’s punitive forces 3 km away from the demarcation line of the sides of the conflict).
The source added that such behavior is very strange. “It is not entirely clear what the enemy wanted to achieve. Perhaps, it was the inconsistency in actions of (Ukrainian army –Editor) commanders. This often happens. Or, we are talking about the planned provocative shelling. Considering that the talks regarding the deescalation in Donbass are underway in Minsk at the moment, Kiev can use this to disrupt the arrangements that the region needs by traditionally accusing the Donetsk side of the shelling“, the source of the agency said.
According to the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk agreements, artillery guns of caliber over 100 mm should be withdrawn from one another by 50 km.
