Azov militants assaulted Kiev TV channel building

25.02.2016, Kiev.

Azov regiment militants blocked Inter TV outlet headquarters in Kiev, Ukrainian media reports citing Vkontakte post made by militants.

Inter is off! StopInter action ongoing”, the militants wrote in the post.

Channel’s employees are barred from entering the premises as activists blocked entrances and put razor wire around the building.

Right Sector militants took part in the action as well, shouting out slogans and calling for channel’s management.

Activists say they intend to launch an indefinite campaign to stop “Russian propaganda” at the channel and render journalists working there free from Kremlin censorship which they are supposed to be subject to. Still, participants claim that they are in no way against freedom of speech.

The action comes a day after a Russian journalist who worked for the outlet, Maria Slolyarova, was deported from Ukraine by the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers.

SBU decided to reduce the term of stay of the said Russian citizen in Ukraine due to the harm she does to the interests of Ukraine”, she wrote in a Facebook post.
