Ukrainian army and "Right Sector" do without DPR Army

Militants of the Ukrainian Neo-Nazi organization “Right Sector” (organization banned in Russia) attacked a Ukrainian army unit near Maryinka, both sides suffered casualties, Donetsk People’s Republic Deputy (DPR) Defense Minister Eduard Basurin claimed during the briefing at Donetsk News Agency.

Eduard Basurin said citing intelligence information that on the evening of February 9th, the militants of “Right Sector” volunteer corps clashed with soldiers of 95th independent air mobile brigade. Total casualties are about 30 killed and up to 100 wounded soldiers, according to the information from intelligence, radio intercepts, and from hospitals, where the bodies and wounded were brought.

DPR Defence Ministry says that “Right Sector” volunteer corps tried to force the Ukrainian soldiers to attack the positions of DPR Armed Forces, but the paratroopers refused to open fire without orders. As a result, “Right Sector” volunteer corps and soldiers of air mobile brigade clashed.

DPR intelligence and local witnesses repeatedly reported on the fighting and clashes between soldiers of the Ukrainian army and militants of nationalist volunteer battalions. In particular, the clashes occurred on the Donetsk, Gorlovka, and south directions.
