Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) (UOC MP) Agafangel claims that during the last month Orthodox temples in South Ukraine were being mass-robbed. All stolen donations were being gathered by communities to help the victims of the war in Donbass, as well as people displaced by the war.
“Around 10 robberies or failed attempts to rob churches occurred in our city and region in the past month, as a result stolen were the donations which were being gathered by the communities to preserve the proper decor of the church, to help the victims and displaced people of Donbass, to support those citizens of our country who don’t have anybody in this world to care about them,” Agafangel’s message published on the website of Odessa eparchy of UOC MP reads.
