OSCE registers all cases of temple seizures in Ukraine

The deputy head of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE said that OSCE observers are recording all cases of violations of the rights of religious people, including all cases of seizure of temples of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the west of Ukraine.

Special Monitoring Mission documents all such cases.

Currently extremists seized 28 temples of Ukrainian Orthodox Churches of the Moscow Patriarchate, another 6 are under the threat of being captured and 2 temples are sealed. This information was published by the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. The seizures are happening in Volynskaya, Rovenskaya, Ternopolskaya, Lvovskaya and Chernovitskaya regions of Ukraine. Only four religious communities have changed their jurisdiction voluntarily.
