DPR Ombudswoman: 'Not an anti-terrorist operation. This is genocide'

According to Darya Morozova, Human Rights Ombudswoman of Donetsk People Republic, Ukrainian junta’s punitive forces partially damaged or destroyed more than 10 260 objects of infrastructure – power lines, heat and gas supply facilities. Most damage was done to the housing.

During the meeting of the Committee of Public Support for the Residents of the South-East of Ukraine, which took place in the Federation Council, Darya Morozova said: “As of November 20, 2015, over 10 260 objects of infrastructure were partially damaged or destroyed in Donetsk region as a result of shelling by Ukrainian military.

5720 houses, 610 power lines, 155 heat supply facilities, 2669 gas supply facilities, 65 healthcare facilities, 388 schools and orphanages, 50 higher educational institutions, 95 objects of road and transport infrastructure, 88 commercial enterprises were destroyed.

I would like to draw your attention to the mortality rate. More than 3932 people, including 579 women, 3353 men and 71 child under 18 years were killed since the beginning of the armed conflict in the Donetsk region. More than 6165 people received injuries of varying severity,” Darya Morozova said.

According to the Commissioner for Human Rights, “this is not an anti-terrorist operation, as the Ukrainian government refers to it, but a real war and a genocide of the population.
