Pyotr Poroshenko made an appeal to Pope Francis for beatification of the representative of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Andrey Sheptytsky, who favored the Nazis during World War II, blessed the Ukrainian Nazi Stepan Bandera and the criminal organization of Ukrainian nationalists to fight against the Soviet Union.
“I asked Pope Francis to complete the beatification of metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky,” Pyotr Poroshenko wrote in the social network Twitter.
