Lugansk People's Republic: Kiev Junta's Punitive Forces Tortured Militia POWs

The LPR militants who returned from captivity made a statement about violent methods of interrogation used by junta’s militants, deputy head of LPR militia’s headquarters Igor Yaschenko reported on Monday November 2nd.

Our militants who returned from captivity told us about violent methods of interrogation and tortures used by militants of Ukraine Armed Forces and Kharkov’s Security Service of Ukraine personnel”, a deputy head of LPR militia’s headquarters reported to RIA News.

According to him, returned militia members had made a statement that personnel of junta’s Security Services of Ukraine (SSU) beat them up and intimidated them. “It is unacceptable and it is a violation of international law, let alone the humanity principles of ethics and morality”, Yaschenko said.

He specified that there are over one and a half thousand people including political prisoners being held in junta’s Security Service of Ukraine prisons.

We call for international human rights organizations to control the security officials and for compliance with the Convention on prisoners of war”, a deputy head of LPR militia’s headquarters declared.
