42nd Russian humanitarian aid convoy arrives to Donbass

According to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti and the public affairs office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations humanitarian aid convoys are already on the Donbass territory.


Leaving Don rescue center in Rostov region, the trucks were divided in two convoys on their way to the border. “Half of the trucks arrived to the border crossing checkpoint “Matveev Kurgan”, the other half – to “Donetsk” checkpoint where customs and border inspections have already started. After [undergoing] the necessary customs procedures both convoys will proceed to their destination points in Donetsk and Lugansk“, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations informed.

According to Donetsk People’s Republic Reconstruction Management Center (DPR RMC), over 630 tons of humanitarian cargo, including over 333 tons of sugar, 51 ton of canned fish, meat and milk, 133 tons of various groats, 107 tons of rye flour were delivered today to DPR alone.

This is the forty-second humanitarian aid convoy from Russia. Over 50,000 thousand tons of humanitarian aid was delivered by Russia to Donbass since mid-August 2014.
