A memorial service for the civilians of Donetsk People’s Republic took place today as a part of Donbass Liberation Day in the Leninsky Komsomol park of the capital. Donbass Liberation Day is celebrated on September 8 – the day Donetsk was fully liberated from fascists by the Soviet army in 1943.
The head of DPR, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, has visited the memorial service. Approximately seven thousand people have gathered near the monument to the murdered residents of Donbass. Archimandrite Kiprian, the dean of Donetsk Church of the Holy Martyr John the Warrior, has headed the memorial service.
“Everybody is alive with God. Lord, give us all health, peace, patience, guardian angels to you,” he said.
The people who attended the ceremony have honored the memory of the dead and laid flowers to the monument.
