Poroshenko promises to do everything to return Donbass and Crimea to Ukraine

06.09.2015 19:54, Kiev.

Pyotr Poroshenko has declared that does not support the radical scenarios of development of the Donbass situation and will everything to return this region and Crimea to Ukraine.

Poroshenko has said during an interview to Ukrainian channels which was aired on Sunday evening.

There are three scenarios of how the events will develop. The first scenario is radical: the offensive operation of the military, liberation of the territory by force and a march on Moscow… The people does not support this position. The second position: build a wall, give a part of the territory away – we can make it without Donbass. Is this scenario possible? It is. But I, as a President of Ukraine, am not willing to trade. And this, if you want to put it this way, will be possible only with another president. I won’t surrender even a small piece of Ukrainian land. I will fight, I will do everything possible to return all lands – and the annexed Crimea, and the occupied territories of Donbass.

The third scenario of resolution to the situation in Donbass, according to Poroshenko, is the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

There is a way to ensure the restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty, Ukrainian authority on these territories, that way is called the Minsk Agreements. To put the Agreements simply – ceasefire, heavy military hardware withdrawal, release of hostages, including our heroes Oleg Sentsov, Nadezhda Savchenko…, involvement of OSCE in monitoring the execution of Minsk Agreements, the programs of humanitarian, cultural, social and infrastructure development, the withdrawal of foreign military from Ukrainian land and restoration of Ukrainian control over the uncontrolled part of the Russian-Ukrainian border.
