Roman Nikolaev, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), shot by unknown people in Kiev, died, UOC MP informed on its website on Wednesday:

Priest Roman Nikolaev, Kiev city cleric, died on July 29 morning at the age of 40.

On the night of July 26 in Kiev unknown men have shot the prior of the Temple of the Great Martyr Tatyana Obolonskogo priest Nikolaev twice in his head. The man survived the attack, but he remained in a serious condition. One of the reasons of the attack is supposed to be an attempt of theft. The media reports that this version is not confirmed by facts, since nothing was stolen from him. The fact that Kiev is flooded with neopagans, members of the neofascist “Right Sector” organization, suggests that not all motives of the murder were investigated.

According to the Church, father Roman remained unconscious until his death.
